Charan Upper Primary School

Gudivada is a quiet enough town, and Charan Upper Primary School is just one of the local spots where kids gather. We are in the 521301 area. Since we are an upper primary school, we deal with that middle age group of kids who aren't little anymore but aren't quite in high school yet. It’s an energetic age. The school building is simple and doesn't stand out much from the other buildings on the street. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. We just have our classrooms and a small area where everyone gathers in the morning. Life in Gudivada moves at its own pace. We see the same people every day at the corner shops. The staff here are mostly local people who have lived in this part of Andhra Pradesh for a long time. We spend our days teaching the basics and making sure the kids are behaving themselves. It’s a lot of manual work, like writing out schedules by hand and fixing things when they break. The classrooms can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up, but that’s just how it is here. We don't try to be anything we're not. It’s just a place for learning and growing up. When the day ends, the town stays pretty quiet, and we head home just like everyone else. It’s a basic, honest living for all of us here at Charan.
