If you are looking for us, you have to head out towards Kummamuru. We are situated in Garikaparru, which is a place where everyone pretty much knows everyone else. Aswini Hospital is a central point for a lot of the families living in this part of the region. Life here moves at a different pace compared to the big cities. We see people coming in from the surrounding fields and smaller settlements nearby. The building itself is sturdy and does what it needs to do. We don't have a lot of the high-tech gadgets you might see in a big city center, but we take care of the people who come through the doors. There is a lot of walking back and forth between the rooms. In the summer, it gets quite hot, so we keep the fans going all day long. The driveway is usually occupied by a few cycles or the occasional auto-rickshaw. It is a simple setup because that is what works best for Garikaparru. We spend our days checking on people and making sure everything is running right. The paperwork takes up some time, but mostly it is about face-to-face talk. You get to know the families after a while. It feels more like a community spot than just a medical building. We are just here doing our bit in Kummamuru. Serving the local area is steady work and we like being part of the scenery.
