Vinayaka Driving School

Our little driving school is located in Koorachundu, which is part of the Kozhikode district. We go by the name Vinayaka Driving School. It’s a hilly area around here, so learning to drive takes a bit more effort than in the flat cities. We spend a lot of time teaching people how to use the clutch properly on the slopes. It can be a bit frustrating for beginners, but we’ve seen it all before. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know these roads like the back of our hands. The school is right in the heart of the village, so everyone knows us. We use some older cars because they are easier to learn on and handle the local terrain well. Sometimes we have to cancel a lesson if the rain gets too heavy, which happens a lot in this part of Kerala. We aren't trying to be the biggest school in Kozhikode, just a reliable place for the people in Koorachundu to learn. We handle the paperwork for the licenses too, which saves folks a trip to the main office. It’s a quiet life and we enjoy seeing someone finally get their license and drive off on their own. If you see our car out on the road, that’s probably a nervous student trying their best. We’re just here to help them along and make sure they feel okay behind the wheel. It's a job we enjoy.
