Star India Driving School

This is Star India Driving School over in Nallalam, Kozhikode. We have been teaching people how to drive around these roads for quite a while now. The office is right here in the neighborhood, so it is easy for locals to find us. Teaching someone to drive is a slow process. You have to be patient when they stall the engine for the fifth time at a busy junction. We use the local streets for practice because that is where people actually have to drive every day. It’s not like a closed track; it’s real life with cows, rickshaws, and plenty of rain. Our cars aren't brand new luxury vehicles, but they are kept in good enough shape to learn on. We spend most of our time in the passenger seat with our foot near the extra brake pedal. It can be stressful sometimes when a student gets nervous, but we just talk them through it. We show them how to handle the clutch and how to look in the mirrors properly. Most of the folks who come here are young people getting their first license or older people who finally decided they needed to learn. We help with the forms and the test dates too. It’s a small operation. We don't have a fancy waiting room, just some plastic chairs and the logbooks. It’s just about getting people ready for the road so they can get where they need to go safely without any trouble.
