Soniya Dental Clinic

You can find us in the Nithun Building on YMCA Road in Calicut. We are pretty close to the petrol bank, which is a good landmark for people who haven't been here before. Calicut is a great place to be, and YMCA Road stays quite active throughout the day. The dental clinic is set up in a way that’s practical for what we do. We have a couple of dental chairs and all the tools laid out on trays. I spend a lot of time cleaning those tools and making sure the cabinets are stocked with cotton and gloves. The waiting area is just a few chairs against the wall with some old newspapers on a side table. It’s not a very large space, so when we have more than three people waiting, it starts to feel a bit full. The light comes in through the front window in the morning, which makes the place look a bit brighter. I usually have a radio playing low in the background just to mask the sound of the equipment. People in Calicut are generally friendly, so we have good conversations with the patients. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here; we just fix teeth and help people with their problems. It’s a straightforward job. Sometimes the water pressure acts up, but we’ve learned how to deal with the quirks of the building. It’s just a normal dental office where we work hard every day to keep things running for everyone.
