Smith Driving School

Our driving school is based in Kuttyady, which is a part of the Kozhikode district. It’s a busy area and the roads can be quite narrow and winding around here. We spend most of our time in the cars with people who are often very nervous about being behind the wheel for the first time. It is a slow process and requires a lot of patience from both the instructor and the student. Our office is just a simple room where we keep the registers and help people with their application forms. We don't have any shiny brochures or big advertisements. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or family members who learned here before. The weather in Kerala can make things interesting, especially when it rains hard and the roads get slick. We just take extra care during those times. Most days we start quite early in the morning to beat the worst of the traffic, but even then, it can get crowded quickly. We have a few vehicles that we use every day, and they have definitely seen better days because of all the learners practicing their clutch control. It is a basic, honest job. We just sit there, watch the road, and try to make sure everyone stays safe while they figure out how to drive. It is not a glamorous business, but it is what we do here in Kuttyady every day without much fuss.
