Shaukat Super Marketing is located on Pilassery Road, Kunnamangalam,. It’s a local spot where most people from the neighborhood end up at some point during the week. We sell a bit of everything, from soap and shampoo to bags of rice and snacks. The shelves can get a bit cluttered because we try to fit as much as possible into the space we have. Early mornings are usually the busiest when the fresh bread and milk arrive. We have to get everything moved inside quickly before the traffic on Pilassery Road picks up. It’s a lot of scanning items and bagging things up for families. Sometimes the internet for the card machine goes slow, which can be a bit frustrating when there is a line, but people here are mostly patient. We know many of the customers by name since they live just around the corner. It is a simple operation. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. Just regular items that people need for their houses every day. The floor needs sweeping pretty much every hour because of the dust from the street. We keep the lights on until late so people can grab stuff on their way home from work. It’s just a regular market making sure the basics are available for anyone who stops by while they are out running errands or heading home for the night.
