Prajaahita Foundation

Prajaahita Foundation is situated at Sivashakthi in the Nellikode area of Kozhikode. We are up in Kodamolikkunnu, which is a bit of a climb but it is a nice spot. Being near the Kuthiravattom side of town means we see a lot of different people every day. We aren't some big city firm with shiny windows. We just have a simple setup where we can get our work done. Most of the people involved here are just locals who wanted to do something useful. We spend our mornings checking in on various projects around the city. Kozhikode has a way of keeping you busy if you let it. We don't really have a set script for how things go. We just deal with whatever comes up that day. The Sivashakthi house is where we keep all our files and where we meet to plan things out. It feels like a real part of the neighborhood. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Usually, people hear about us through word of mouth. That’s the way we prefer it because it keeps things personal. We just want to do right by the people living around us. It is hard work sometimes, but it’s the kind of work that feels right at the end of the day. There is always tea and a place to sit if someone drops by.
