Our place, Peekay Steel Castings Pvt. Ltd., is located down in Nallalam. It's a big operation with a lot of heat and heavy lifting involved in the casting process. Walking through the plant, you'll see a lot of people in safety gear and the smell of molten metal in the air. We’ve been part of this community for quite a bit. It’s not a quiet job. The furnaces are running constantly, and there’s always a truck coming or going. We handle steel, mostly. Sometimes the weather in Nallalam gets really humid, and it makes the work even tougher, but the crew stays on it. We aren't big on meetings or long emails. We mostly just focus on the pours and making sure the molds are right. If a batch isn't perfect, we have to deal with it right then and there. It's honest work. The office side is pretty basic too, just enough to keep the paperwork moving. We’ve got a lot of history here. People in the neighborhood know us as the steel place. It’s not glamorous, but it’s an important part of how things get built. We just show up every morning and get the work done. The machines are old but they still work fine with a bit of grease and attention. That's life here.
