Metro Provision Store

Our shop is located in Perambra on TB Road. It’s a central enough spot for folks living around here. We deal with provisions, so that means a lot of heavy lifting. Those big sacks of flour and sugar don't move themselves and my back definitely feels it by the end of the day. The shop stays quite cool because of the high ceiling but it gets dark in the corners when the clouds come over. We’ve been at this for a while now and the routine is always the same. We unlock the front gate and start bringing the displays out onto the step. TB Road gets quite a lot of trucks and buses passing by so it can be noisy. You get used to the sound of the engines after a while. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Most people just know we are here because they’ve been coming for years. We keep the basics in stock. Sometimes the milk delivery is late and we have to tell everyone to come back in an hour. It’s frustrating but that’s just part of how things go. We try to keep the place clean but with all the sacks of grain, there is always a bit of dust around. It’s an honest way to make a living and we like being part of the daily life in Perambra.
