Maruti Driving School

You can find us at Maruti Driving School over in the Modern Bazar area of Kozhikode. We are based inside the Indus Motor Company building on Kolathara road, right near the Steel Complex. It is a busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside our windows. We have been helping people from the neighborhood learn to drive for quite some time now. The roads around here can be a bit of a challenge, especially with the buses and the local traffic near the complex, but that is actually good for learning. If you can drive here, you can drive anywhere. We have a simple setup. You walk in, talk to one of us, and we figure out a schedule that works. We have a few different cars we use for the lessons. They are not brand new, but they work fine and we keep them clean enough. We spend most of our day out on the road, watching mirrors and telling people to slow down. It’s a lot of repetition, but that is how you learn. Sometimes we have a bit of a laugh when a student finally gets the hang of a difficult U-turn. We don't have any big speeches to give. We just show up, take the cars out, and help people get their license so they can get on with their lives. It's honest work and we like being part of the community here. The tea shop down the road is where we usually end up after a long shift of teaching.
