Malabar Drugs

Malabar Drugs is located in the Hamban Complex, which is right at the Medical College Junction. If you’ve ever been through that junction, you know it’s a bit of a mess with all the buses and people crossing everywhere. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We spend most of our time at the front counter, watching the traffic go by while we work. The Hamban Complex is an older building, and we’ve got our space set up with simple wooden shelves. It’s a practical setup, nothing too modern or polished. We have to keep an eye on the stock because things move pretty fast being so close to the medical college. We get a lot of students and hospital staff popping in throughout the day. The afternoon sun hits the front window pretty hard, so it can get warm, but we keep the door open for a breeze. There’s always a bit of noise from the street, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't really do any big advertising; people just know we're here at the junction. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time parking because it’s so crowded, so we end up carrying boxes quite a way. It’s just the way it goes here. We keep our records in big ledgers and try to stay on top of the paperwork when it’s slow and the traffic outside calms down for a bit.
