We’ve been here at East Hill Road in Karaparamba for quite a while now. Most people around Kozhikode know the spot right near GHS Karaparamba. It’s just a small office where we handle all the paperwork for learner’s permits and licenses. Teaching people how to drive isn't always easy, especially with how the traffic gets around here these days. We spend most of our mornings out on the roads with students who are usually pretty nervous the first time they sit behind the wheel. The cars have seen better days but they work fine for learning. We try to be patient because everyone learns at their own pace. Sometimes the gear shifting takes a week to click, and other times people get it in a day. It’s a lot of sitting in the passenger seat and keeping an eye on the clutch. If you walk past the shop, you'll probably see a couple of us standing outside talking about the latest RTO rules or just grabbing a tea. It's not a fancy setup. We just have a few desks and some chairs for when students come in to fill out their forms. The location is handy because it’s easy to find on East Hill Road. We just keep doing what we do, helping the locals get mobile and making sure they don’t hit anything while they’re practicing their reverse parking. It’s honest work and keeps us busy from morning till the sun goes down.
