Our place is on the ground floor of the Kadambattuparambil building, which is Door No. 12/521 B. We are located in the Kuttichira area. Being on the ground floor is good because people don't have to climb any stairs to reach us, which is helpful for some of the older people who come by. The room is quite long and narrow, so we have the desks lined up against the wall. We have a small area in the back where we keep the kettle and some cups for when we take a break. The walls have a few marks on them where the chairs have bumped against them over the years. We spend the day talking to people from Kuttichira about their small savings and helping them understand the paperwork they need to sign. We don't use any fancy technology, just the basic stuff that works for us. It is a very hands-on kind of job. We recognize most of the people who walk through the door because they are our neighbors. Sometimes we stay a bit late if there is a lot of filing to do, but usually we head out when the shops nearby start closing. It is a decent, honest place to work and we like being part of the local scene here. No one puts on any acts; we just talk and work like normal human beings.
