Happy Supermarket

We’ve been sitting here on Edavanna Road in Puthalam for quite some time now. People in Areekode know where to find us when they run out of milk or need some spices for dinner. It isn't a huge place, but we pack a lot onto the shelves. Sometimes it feels a bit tight when a few people are in here at once, but we make it work. Most days start early with the shutter going up and someone sweeping the front. We get our stock from a few different places, so there is always something coming in or going out. My brother and I take turns behind the counter, especially when it gets busy in the evenings. We see the same faces every week, which is nice. It’s just a regular supermarket, nothing like those big malls in the city. We have the basics like rice, pulses, and household items. The vegetable crates are usually near the front. If you live around here, you probably walked past us a hundred times already. The sign outside has faded a bit from the sun, but everyone knows it's Happy Supermarket. We don't have a fancy system for everything, just notebooks and a cash drawer. It gets the job done. Life here moves at its own pace. We stay open until late so people coming home from work can grab what they need. It’s a simple living for us, keeping the shop running and making sure the inventory stays stocked for the neighborhood folks.
