East Coast Construction&Industries

Out here in Kozhikode, Kerala, we have our office in a place called Madatheentavita. East Coast Construction&Industries is the name on the door, but most people around here just know us as the construction guys. It’s a pretty green area, and the atmosphere is usually quite calm until we start the engines. We do a lot of local work, mostly residential and small commercial stuff. The office is where we keep our records and meet with people to talk about their plans. It’s a simple setup with a few chairs and a lot of paper everywhere. We don't really bother with being corporate or having a big marketing strategy. Most of our work comes from people just knowing who we are and seeing what we’ve built nearby. Kerala has that heavy rain for months, so we spend a lot of time planning around the monsoon. It can be frustrating when everything turns to mud, but we’ve been doing this long enough to stay patient. There’s usually someone's umbrella drying by the door because of the rain. Our office in Madatheentavita isn't very big, but it’s enough for what we need. We spend more time on the sites anyway. Sometimes we have to drive quite a distance to get to a project, but that’s part of the deal. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just try to get the walls straight and the roofs tight. It’s basic stuff. We’re just regular people.
