Cool N Cool Ice Cubes

Setting up here at number 256 in Kombodinjamakkal was a bit of a gamble at first, but Kundai needed a reliable source for ice. We’ve been running the machines non-stop for the last few years. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting those heavy bags and making sure they don’t tear. Most of our work happens early in the morning before the sun really gets going. If we aren't careful, half the stock could melt before it even gets to the customer. We supply a lot of the local vendors around here. They rely on us to keep their stuff chilled. The building is simple, just enough space for the freezers and a small area to pack things up. Sometimes the water pressure acts up, and we have to wait a bit to start the next batch. It can be frustrating, but we manage. People know us as the place to go when they have a wedding or a big function in the village. We don't really do much advertising; people just know where we are. It’s a bit damp inside, which is expected. We wear boots all day because the floor is always cold. It’s just a few of us working here, trying to keep up with the demand during the summer months. It's not easy work, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. We're just glad to be a part of the local community and help out where we can.
