Bluemount Tea Company

Bluemount Tea Company is based out in Konavakorai, which is part of the Kerada area. It is a quiet place surrounded by a lot of green. Being out here means we are close to where the tea actually grows. Our daily life involves a lot of checking on the leaves and making sure the processing is going okay. We don't have a big office building. Our setup is more practical, focused on the tea itself. The weather can be a bit unpredictable in the hills, so we have to adjust our work quite often. Sometimes the roads get difficult when it rains a lot. We have a small group of people working here who know the land well. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We are usually in boots and jackets because it gets cold. We don't do much in terms of marketing. We just let the tea speak for itself. Most of our time is spent in the factory or out in the fields. It’s a lot of physical work and the days can be long. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to keep things running steadily. People in Kerada know us as a local fixture. It’s a simple life focused on the tea seasons. We take a break when the sun goes down and start again at dawn.
