Ayurvedic Hospital

Down here in Calicut, Kerala, we run this Ayurvedic Hospital. It’s a pretty quiet place overall, which is what most of our patients are looking for when they come to see us. The building itself is older, and you can usually smell the oils and herbs from the street before you even step inside. We don’t go in for all the high-tech gadgets or the clinical feel of a modern city hospital. Instead, we stick to the old ways of doing things, using what we know about plants and traditional treatments. The rooms are basic, just enough to be comfortable while people are staying here. We have a few staff members who have been working here since they were young, learning the trade from the older generation. It’s a bit humid here in Kerala, as everyone knows, so we keep the windows open to catch the breeze. You might see some of us grinding up roots or mixing batches of oil in the back room during the day. We don't spend money on big advertisements or fancy brochures. People usually find out about us through word of mouth or just because they live nearby. It’s a slow-paced kind of life here. We take things as they come and try to give everyone the time they need. It’s not a perfect system, and we’re often behind on our scheduling, but we care about the people who come to us for help.
