Ansari Store

Over on Peria Korome Road, right in Alattil, you'll find Ansari Store. We’ve been set up here for a good amount of time. It started out small and stayed that way, which suits us fine. The road gets a bit of traffic, especially during the harvest times or when people are traveling between towns. We keep the doors open early. Most of the time, I’m behind the counter checking things off a list or sweeping the floor. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the road being right there, but we manage. People come in for their daily supplies, things like rice or oil or maybe just a few snacks for the kids. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s not a big supermarket, so don't expect aisles and aisles of stuff. We have what’s necessary. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit there with a flashlight until it comes back. That’s just part of being in this area. We try to keep the prices fair, though everything seems to be getting more expensive lately. We don’t do any fancy advertising. Usually, someone just tells their neighbor we have what they need. It’s a decent place to work, even if the days get long. My family helps out when they can. We just keep moving along, one day at a time, making sure the shelves have something on them for whoever stops by.
