Chutta

Our little spot is in the Pogo Dsm College Building, which is right by the new bus stand in Koyilandy. Because of where we are, there’s always a lot of noise from the buses and students walking back and forth. Chutta is just a small venture we started to stay busy. We see a lot of young faces because of the college nearby. They are usually in a hurry to catch a bus or get to class. We try to keep things moving quickly for them. The shop isn't very big, so things can get a bit cramped during the lunch hour. We do our own cleaning and stocking. It’s just how it is. Sometimes we run out of things faster than we expected. Then one of us has to go and get more stock. We don't have a big delivery truck. We just use a scooter. It’s easier to get through the traffic around the bus stand that way. We've been here for a couple of years now. We know the other shop owners in the building pretty well. We look out for each other. If someone needs change or a bit of tape, they just ask. It’s a good spot to be. We don't really have a boss telling us what to do. We just figure it out as we go. It’s not always perfect, but we make it work. Sometimes we just sit and watch the rain fall on the bus stand while we wait for customers to come in.
