Ragavendra Traders

If you head down Thonugal Road in Salaiputhur, you’ll find us at number 524. Ragavendra Traders is a pretty straightforward operation. We deal in basic goods and trade with the local folks and farmers around here. The building isn't anything to look at twice, just a sturdy place to keep our stock dry and safe. We’ve seen the road change over the years, getting paved and then getting holes again, but we stay right here. Most of our day is spent unloading bags or weighing things out for customers who come by in their tractors or small vans. It’s physical work and your back usually feels it by the end of the week. We don't have a website or any of that high-tech stuff because most of our business happens face-to-face or over a quick phone call. People know we are here and they know what we carry. We don’t try to sell anyone things they don’t actually need. If we have it, we tell them the price, and if they like it, they take it. That’s how we’ve always done things. It’s quiet out here sometimes, especially in the afternoons when the sun is really hitting the roof, but then it picks up again toward the evening. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s a decent life and we’re glad to be part of the Salaiputhur community for this long.
