We spend most of our days here at the Plappallil Buildings in Pakkil. It is a familiar spot for anyone living around Kottayam. Usually, the morning starts with opening up the shutters and letting some air into the office. The street outside gets busy pretty early with people heading to work or the post office nearby. We have been here for a while now, and the walls are covered with old calendars and some stacks of paper that we really should organize better one of these days. It’s not a fancy place, just a few desks and chairs where we sit and handle the daily paperwork. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise, but we are used to it by now. People from the neighborhood drop in quite often, sometimes just to say hello or ask about something local. We keep a pot of tea going most afternoons because it gets a bit quiet around three. Kottayam-686012 is a good place to be based. The rain hits the roof pretty hard during monsoon season, making it hard to hear anything, but that’s just how it is in Kerala. We don't have a big corporate team, just a couple of us making sure everything stays on track. It is honest work and keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. If you are walking past Pakkil Post, you will probably see our sign hanging out front near the entrance.
