Sign Art

If you are looking for Sign Art, you have to head over to Puzhavathu in Kottayam. We are situated right behind the fire station, so we hear the sirens every now and then when they head out on a call. It’s a busy little corner of the district. The Muzahid Mosque is also very close by, and you can hear the prayers throughout the day, which gives the place a nice, steady feel. The shop itself is just a regular building where we do all our painting and cutting. Being in Kottayam, it rains quite a bit, so we spend a lot of time making sure everything stays dry inside. The humidity can be a real pain when we are waiting for paint to dry on a sign. We don't have a big fancy sign for ourselves, ironically enough, just the workspace where the mess happens. There’s usually a bit of sawdust or paint fumes in the air. The road back here isn't the widest, but we make it work for the deliveries coming in. Most of our neighbors are local folks who have been here as long as we have. We keep things pretty simple. It is just about getting the orders finished and out the door on time. We usually close up when it starts getting dark, unless there is a lot of work piled up. It's a hardworking spot in a good part of town.
