Our office is located at Vazhachirayil, building number 394 in Ward XII on TB Road. It’s right in the middle of the Kottayam Municipality area, so there’s always something happening outside the windows. It’s a busy street and we can hear the buses and cars all day long. The office itself is a straightforward place. We handle the daily tasks of running a chit company. This means a lot of entries in the books and checking the numbers over and over again. We have some plastic chairs for visitors and a couple of wooden desks for us to work at. It’s not the most modern setup, but it’s worked for us so far. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations; we’d rather just keep the business running right for everyone involved. People drop by on their way to the market or the bus stand. It’s a convenient spot for them. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing out receipts by hand. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty from all the traffic on the road outside, so we’re always wiping down the desks in the morning. It’s just a regular local business life. We don’t make things more complicated than they need to be. We are just here doing our jobs on TB Road and making sure the accounts are settled correctly each month. It's a busy life but we enjoy being in the town center.
