Nelmangala Silk Saree Weavers Producer Company Limited

Our group is located right near the Chowdeshwari Temple at 6866, 2nd cross. Nelmangala is a place where people know about weaving, and that is what we are all about. We are a producer company, which basically means we are a bunch of folks working together to get our silk sarees out there. It’s not a fancy corporate setup. Most of the time, you’ll find us talking about yarn prices or looking at the latest sarees that have come off the looms. The temple is a good landmark because everyone in the area knows it. We started this because we wanted to have a better way to organize the work we were already doing. It’s been a learning process, and we’ve made our share of mistakes along the way with the paperwork and the legal stuff. But the weaving part, we know that well. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make sarees and try to sell them so the weavers can keep their fires going at home. The office is often full of people coming in to show their work or just to have a chat. It can get a bit loud and crowded, especially during the festival seasons. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just have the sarees and the people who make them. It’s simple, local work that keeps us connected to our roots here in Nelmangala and helps the community.
