Madathil Hardware

Madathil Hardware is our small shop over in Erattupetta. We deal in all the usual things you’d expect to find in a hardware store like nails, hammers, and pipes. The shop is often a bit cluttered because we try to keep as much in stock as possible. You never know what someone is going to walk in and ask for on a Tuesday morning. We have buckets and tools sitting on the floor and hanging from the walls. It is a local place where builders and homeowners come when something breaks or they are starting a project. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know where everything is hidden. Sometimes it takes a minute to find the right size of bolt in the bins. Erattupetta is a good place to be, and we know many of the faces that come through the door. We listen to what they are building and sometimes give a bit of advice if they ask. The shop smells like metal and wood, which I’ve grown to like over the years. We aren't trying to be the biggest store around, just a reliable one where you can get what you need without a fuss. It’s hard work moving the heavy boxes around but it keeps us busy and the day goes by fast enough when we have work to do.
