J & J Granites & Marbles

We are set up right on the M. C. Road in the Kumaranalloor area. If you’ve driven down this road, you’ve probably passed by us many times. We deal with granite and marble, so our front yard is usually crowded with large stone slabs leaned up against each other. It’s a very visible spot, which is good for business, but the road noise is something we’ve just had to get used to over the years. Inside the office, it’s pretty simple—just a desk, some samples of tiles, and a lot of dust from the stone cutting that drifts in. We spend our days measuring slabs and helping people figure out how many square feet they need for their kitchens or floors. It’s not always easy work because the stone is heavy and you have to be careful not to chip the edges when you’re moving it around with the trolley. We have a few guys who handle the loading and unloading, and they’ve gotten pretty good at it over the months. The weather on the M. C. Road can be a bit unpredictable, so we’re always keeping an eye out for rain so we can cover up some of the more delicate marble pieces. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to get through the orders we have for the week and make sure the stones get delivered where they’re supposed to go. It’s a local operation, and we like keeping it that way because it's easier to manage.
