KELAMANGALAM NIDHI LIMITED

Our office is tucked away in the Kelamangalam Complex over in Pannimattom, which is part of the Pallom area in Kottayam. We use rooms VI 67C and 67D. It’s a pretty standard building, nothing too special to look at from the outside. People come here to talk about their savings or if they need a small bit of help with a loan. We’ve been in this spot for some time now. The hallway outside our door is usually quiet unless it’s the start of the month when everyone shows up at once. We usually have a kettle going in the back for tea because the days can feel long when you’re looking at figures all day. Kottayam weather can be unpredictable, so we always keep an umbrella by the door. The furniture in the office is older wood, and the drawers are full of files that we’ve collected over the years. We aren't trying to be a massive corporation. We’re just a group of people working in a local Nidhi company. Most of our visitors are neighbors who we see at the market or the bus stop. We spend our time counting cash, writing out receipts, and making sure the ledgers are up to date. It’s basic work, but it matters to the people who trust us with their money. By the time we leave at five, the street is starting to get busy with people heading home.
