We are located in Erattupetta and have been doing this for quite some time now. Green Spices isn't some big corporation with a glass building. It is just a regular place where we get the spices from the local growers and get them ready for whoever needs them. The weather here in Kerala can be pretty damp, so we have to be careful with how we store everything. I spend most of my mornings checking the bags and making sure nothing got ruined by the moisture. My brother and a couple of guys from the neighborhood come in around eight to start the sorting. It is not glamorous work at all. You get dust in your clothes and the smell of cardamom and pepper stays on you even after you go home. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy things about us. People just know where we are on the map and they come by when they need something. Sometimes the truck drivers get lost coming through these roads, so I end up on the phone giving directions for half the afternoon. We just try to do a decent job and get the orders out on time. If you come by, you’ll probably find me sitting near the back entrance with a cup of tea, looking over the inventory lists. It’s just how we run things here day in and day out.
