Cocobunch Products LLP is located at the Vazhayil house, number 124/A in Moonnilavu. This part of Kottayam is very green and there are coconut trees everywhere you look. It made sense for us to start a business that uses what is growing right in our backyard. We are an LLP, which sounds formal, but it’s really just a few of us working together in a small unit near the house. We spend our time processing coconut products. It’s manual work mostly. We have to husk them, clean them, and then get them ready for whatever we are making that week. The air always smells like fresh coconut and smoke from the drying process. It’s not a polished corporate office. We have dirt on our boots and our clothes get stained. We don't mind it because that’s just how you work with agriculture. Moonnilavu is a small place where everyone knows what everyone else is doing. We’ve been at this for a bit now and we just keep it simple. We aren't looking to take over the world. We just want to make decent products from the trees around here and sell them for a fair price. Sometimes the rain in Kottayam stops us from drying the coconuts, so we just wait it out. It’s a slow, steady life and we just do our best with what we have.
