Our spot is in the Udaya Buildings over in Cherpunkal, near Pala. It is a busy little area, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work. We have been working out of this office for some time now. It is nothing special to look at, just some white walls and a few filing cabinets that don't always close right. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or talking to the people who bring their goods to us. Pala is a good place for this kind of work because everyone knows everyone else. You can’t really go for a walk without running into someone you know from the market. We handle the export side of things, which means a lot of checking boxes and making sure the labels are stuck on straight. Sometimes the printer runs out of ink right when we are in a hurry, and someone has to run down the street to get more. We have a small crew and we usually eat our lunch together at the back desk. It is mostly just talk about local stuff, like the price of rubber or who is getting married in the village. We do not have any big corporate meetings or anything like that. We just look at what needs to be shipped out and we get it done. The traffic on the main road can be a mess, but we manage to get by.
