Best Foods

Best Foods is out in Manrcadu, near Kanjikuzhi. This part of the country is very green and the air feels different than it does in the city. Our place isn't anything special to look at from the outside. It’s just a regular building nestled among the trees. We do a lot of our work in the back where there’s more room to move around. Kanjikuzhi is a small place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We have a few people working with us who have lived here their whole lives. The road outside is narrow and winds through the hills. Sometimes a cow or a goat gets in the way of the delivery van, and we just have to wait. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just focus on the food we handle and make sure it’s packed right. The humidity can be a bit much in the afternoons, so we usually have the windows wide open to catch any breeze coming through the leaves. There’s a porch where we sit sometimes to talk about the day’s work. It’s a slow, steady life here in Manrcadu. We don’t try to be something we aren't. We just run our small operation and go home to our families in the evening. The rain here is heavy and loud, and it makes the whole place smell like wet earth. It’s a good spot to be. We’ve been at this for a while now and the neighborhood is quiet.
