Annus Juice

If you are ever in the Karukachal area of Kottayam, you might come across Annus Juice. We are located at number 21 and it’s a straightforward little shop. We don’t go in for any of that modern marketing talk. We just open up every morning and get to work. Kottayam has its own pace and we fit right into it here in Karukachal. We spend a lot of time preparing the fruit and making sure we have enough ice for the day. It’s a one-room kind of place where we do everything ourselves. Sometimes the rain in Kerala can be quite heavy and things slow down, but mostly we are kept busy by the locals. We aren't trying to build a big brand or anything like that. We just want to keep the shop at 21 running well. Most of our day is spent behind the counter, talking to whoever walks in. We know most of the people who live nearby by their first names. It’s a friendly enough place. We don’t have fancy furniture, just a few stools for people to sit on while they wait. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t need a big sign for people to find us. It’s just a small juice shop in Karukachal, doing what it’s always done. Every evening we close up, sweep the floor, and count the bottles to see what we need for tomorrow.
