Anjanam Fashions

We've been here at 51 Mercy Road in Karukachal for a good while now. It’s a quiet enough spot in Kottayam, though the road gets busy when the schools let out. I usually open up the shutters around nine in the morning. Anjanam Fashions is really just me and a couple of helpers trying to keep things organized with all the clothes we have coming in. People from around the neighborhood stop by, mostly looking for something specific for a wedding or just a regular day out. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside on the steps and talk to the neighbors until it comes back on. It’s not a big fancy showroom or anything like that. We have racks of stuff that we try to keep tidy, but it gets messy pretty fast when a few families are in here looking through the stacks. My desk is always covered in notebooks where I write down what needs to be ordered next. We don't really do much advertising, word of mouth seems to do the trick around here. It gets quite hot in the summers, so we keep the fans running full blast. You’ll find us right near the main stretch, it’s a bright building so it’s hard to miss. We mostly just focus on getting the stock right and making sure nobody leaves without finding what they need. It's simple work but it keeps us busy every day except Sundays.
