If you walk down toward the Subramaniya Temple in Perunna, you’ll find us tucked away nearby. Amba Ayurveda Hospital has been part of this Perunna neighborhood for quite some time. The air around here usually smells like the herbs and oils we use, which is a lot better than the car exhaust you get in the middle of town. It’s a peaceful spot, mostly because of the temple being so close. We have a lot of people who come in after their morning prayers are finished. The building has these thick stone walls that keep it cool even when the sun is beating down outside. We don’t have any of those fancy digital screens or loud intercoms. Instead, we just call out names from the doorway when it’s someone’s turn to come in. There’s a small garden in the back where we grow a few things, though the local goats sometimes get in and eat the plants before we can pick them. The staff here has been together for years, so we’re more like a family than coworkers. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars and making sure the oils are ready for the day. It’s a lot of manual work, and our hands are always stained with something or other. People come from the surrounding villages because they know the way to the temple so well. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth works just fine for us in Perunna. It’s just a steady, quiet way to spend the day.
