Start with the location. It's been here a while. We handle wheat, rice, maybe some pulses. The machines are loud. People bring their grain in bags. It’s a dusty place but that's how it is. Sometimes there's a wait when everyone comes at once. We just get on with the work. No fancy office, just the mill floor in Chakkuvarakkal. My hands are usually white from the flour by midday. We keep the machines running and try to make sure everyone gets their stuff back in good time. The shop isn't hard to find if you know 5H area. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. Some days are busier than others, especially before festivals. We see a lot of the same faces every week. It's just local work. Nothing fancy. We focus on getting the texture right for whoever is asking. Some want it fine, some a bit coarse for different things at home. We just listen to what they need and do it. It’s honest work and keeps us busy. The neighborhood knows where we are. We don't spend much time talking, mostly just working the levers and keeping the sacks moving. That’s how life goes here at the mill. It’s been sitting on this same spot for years, and we don’t plan on changing much. We just show up and grind until the day is done.
