Gothandan Farms

Gothandan Farms is tucked away at number 62 in Koomapatty. It is a quiet area where you can hear the birds and the wind more than any cars. Running a farm means we are up before the sun is even visible over the trees. There is always dirt under our fingernails and the work never really feels finished. We have a few different things growing and some animals to look after, depending on the season. The house at 62 is where we keep all the tools and the seeds. It is a simple life and we don't have a lot of modern office equipment or anything like that. We spend most of our time outside in the fields or fixing fences that have come loose. The weather is the main thing we talk about because it changes everything for us. Some years the rain is good and other years it’s a struggle. We sell what we grow to the people who know us or at the local markets nearby. It isn't a massive commercial operation, just a family farm in Koomapatty trying to make a living from the land. We don't have a website or a big sign, just the gate and the crops. People who need us usually just show up or call us on the phone. It is hard work but we are used to it.
