Kadimi Fly Ash Bricks

Operating Kadimi Fly Ash Bricks out in Chicha Pally is a lot of work, but it’s what we do. Khammam can get incredibly hot in the summer, which makes the yard a tough place to be sometimes. We have our setup right there in the village area, and it's mostly about managing the piles of bricks and getting the trucks loaded up. There’s always a fine layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we try to clean it. It’s a very hands-on job, and most of us here have been doing this for years. We don’t have a big office with air conditioning. We mostly sit out under the shade when we take our breaks. The road out to Chicha Pally is okay, but it gets busy with all the transport moving back and forth from Khammam. We started this because we knew the area and saw how much building was going on around here. It isn't a glamorous life, but it's honest. We spend a lot of time just watching the weather and making sure the bricks are drying properly. You get to know everyone in the neighborhood when you’re working outside all day. People stop by to chat or ask about what we’re doing. It’s just a small local yard where we try to keep things simple and stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the workers paid for their time.
