Kattuchira Roofs & Tiles

Down here on Am Road in Cheruvattoor, we spend our days surrounded by piles of clay and cement. Kattuchira Roofs & Tiles is right at number 6510, so we’re easy to spot if you’re driving through. The yard is always full of different stacks. Some are red, some are grey, and they all weigh a ton. Moving these tiles around is a workout we didn't ask for but got anyway. When the sun hits the terracotta, the whole place glows a bit. We get a lot of dust on our clothes by the time we go home. People around here know us for being the place where you can actually see what you're buying instead of looking at a book. We don't use a lot of fancy computers. Most things are written down in a big ledger that’s seen better days. The rain in Cheruvattoor can be quite heavy, so we spend a lot of time making sure everything is covered up properly. It’s a simple setup. We have a small office where the tea stays warm, but mostly we are outside in the yard. Sometimes a stack falls over if we aren't careful, and then we spend the hour picking up the pieces. It’s just us and the tiles, day in and day out. We like the quiet stretches between the big orders when we can just tidy up the rows and make sure the piles are straight.
