Tourist Sweet Shop

We are located at Shop No. 47 on the Railway Station Road. Jhanda Chowk is right nearby, so there is always a lot of traffic and people walking past. Being in the Vikas Puri area means things never really stay quiet for long. We open up early to get everything ready before the first trains start bringing people in. The shop smells like sugar and fried things most of the time. It’s a small space, but we manage to fit everything in. We spend a lot of time behind the counter, packing boxes and talking to commuters who are in a hurry. Sometimes the fans don't keep it cool enough when the stoves are going, but we get used to it. The floor needs sweeping all day because of the dust from the road outside. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just see the sign and come in. We try to keep the glass cases full of whatever we made that morning. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and dealing with change, but it’s what we do. The regulars from around the station know us by name now. It’s just a basic sweet shop in a very busy part of town. We don’t do anything fancy, just keep the trays filled and the tea hot.
