The Nilgiri Tea Estates Limited

The Nilgiri Tea Estates Limited is based out of No:1, Mailoor Estate, near the Kullakamby Post in Coonoor. It’s a beautiful part of the country, though it gets very damp and misty quite often. We’ve been up here in the hills for a very long time. Our daily life is mostly governed by the weather and the cycles of the estate. It’s not like working in a city office. Things move a bit slower here, but there is always plenty of work to do. We don't have a big corporate headquarters. Most of our business is run from this single location at Mailoor Estate. We don’t spend time on fancy brochures or trying to sound more important than we are. We are just people who work with tea. The road up to Kullakamby can be a bit rough after the rains, but we’re used to it. Our office is practical and a bit old-fashioned. We keep our records, handle the logistics, and make sure everything on the estate is ticking along. It’s quiet out here compared to the towns, and we prefer it that way. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just the estate, the tea, and the daily chores that keep us busy. It’s a lifestyle as much as a business, really. We just keep at it, season after season, and hope the crop is good each year. There isn’t much to it besides the hard work and staying on top of the maintenance around the place.
