Evelyn Tea Factory

We’re located at number 21 in Konavakorai. It’s a factory, so don’t expect anything like a nice showroom or a fancy office. The building is old and it has that smell of dried tea leaves that never really goes away. We’ve been working out of this space for quite some time. Most of the people who work here live just down the road or in the nearby villages. It’s hard work, and the machines can be quite loud when they’re all running at once. We spend our days processing the leaves that come in from the fields nearby. There isn't much to say about our history or anything like that. We just focus on getting the work done every day. The office is just a small room at the front with a desk covered in papers and a phone that rings more often than we’d like. We don’t really have a public relations person or anyone to write fancy things about us. We’re just a bunch of people who know how to handle tea machinery. Sometimes the trucks get stuck on the narrow roads leading up to the factory, but we always figure it out. It’s a quiet life up here in Konavakorai when the machines are off. We aren't trying to change the world, we’re just making sure the tea is ready for the market. It’s just what we do and we’ve been doing it for years now.
