We’ve been here on Jalawar Road for a while now, right near the Khadi Grama Udyog. It’s a busy spot but we like the energy of the neighborhood. Most days you’ll find us covered in wood shavings or trying to fix a machine that’s acting up again. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights and air conditioning. Instead, it’s just the workshop where we cut, sand, and join things together. Sometimes people stop by just to ask directions, and that’s fine too. We deal with all sorts of wood and boards, trying to make items that actually stay together and work like they should. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and by the end of the day, we’re all pretty tired. But there is something about finishing a piece and seeing it ready to go out the door. We aren't a big corporation with people in suits; we are just guys who know how to handle a saw and a hammer. If you walk past the Khadi place, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. The weather gets really hot here, especially in the afternoons, so we usually have the big doors wide open to get some air moving. It’s a simple way of working. We take the orders that come in, we do the work, and we hope the person is happy enough to come back next time they need a shelf or a frame. That is pretty much how things go at Woodmek.
