Tirath Kirana Stores

Tirath Kirana Stores is located right in the middle of Purani Sabji Mandi. Being in the old vegetable market means we are surrounded by the smells of fresh produce and the sound of shouting vendors from very early in the morning. Our shop sells the dry goods that go along with the vegetables people buy outside. We have pulses, oils, salt, and all those little items like matchboxes or soap that people suddenly realize they’ve run out of. The floor is usually a bit dusty from all the foot traffic, and there are always sacks sitting around waiting to be opened. It’s a tight space because we try to stock as much as possible. When the market is in full swing, it’s hard to even walk on the street, but that’s just how life is here in the Mandi. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights, just the standard shelves and a counter where we wrap things in paper or plastic bags. It’s a family-run kind of vibe, where we just get on with the job of weighing out grains and counting change. Some days are slower than others, especially when the weather is bad, but usually, there’s a steady stream of people looking for their daily rations. We’ve been at this spot for a while and have seen the market change, but the need for basic groceries stays the same.
