Surendra Kumar & Company

Surendra Kumar & Company is located right in the middle of New Motor Market 110. It’s always noisy around here with all the vehicles and people shouting to be heard over the engines. We’ve been at this spot for a good length of time. The shop itself is a bit cramped because we have a lot of stuff piled up, but we know where everything is. Mostly. My hands are usually a bit dirty by noon, but that is expected when you work in a place like this. There are plenty of other shops nearby, so we see the same faces every day. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The fan in the corner makes a clicking sound that I’ve stopped noticing. Customers come in looking for specific things, and we do what we can to help them out. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us occupied. The floor is concrete and has some stains that won't ever come out. We don't mind it. It feels like a real workplace. If you walk past the main gate of the market, you just keep going until you hit number 110. We are right there. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance, and we have to wait for them to move. That's just life in the motor market. We stay open until the sun goes down and the other shops start locking up their shutters. It is a busy life but it is ours.
