In Kota, the heat is something you just have to live with. We are based in Prithvi Enclave, which is in the Civil Lane area. It’s a decent part of town, relatively quiet compared to the main markets. Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd has been here at B-1 for some time now. Our office stays cool because of the thick walls, which is a relief. We spend our mornings looking over site reports and talking to the foremen. Rajasthan has its own way of doing things, especially with the stone work. We have a few guys who have been with us since we started. There’s always a bit of dust on the desks no matter how much we clean. It’s just part of the job when you’re in construction. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. Most people find us through word of mouth or by just seeing our name on a board at a site. We take our lunch breaks together, usually just something simple from home. The evenings are better when it cools down and we can get more done. We aren’t looking to change the world. We just want to build things that stay up and keep our workers busy. It’s a practical life, and we don't need much more than that. The gate outside squeaks every time someone comes in, but we never remember to oil it.
