Sunderam Kirana Store

Our store is located over by the New Cloth Market, right near the spot where the old motor garage used to be. It’s an area with a lot of history, and Sunderam Kirana Store has been a part of it for a good while. The surroundings are usually busy with people carrying rolls of cloth and mechanics working on vehicles nearby. We keep our shop stocked with all the essential food items like pulses, spices, and ghee. The shelves are made of old wood and they groan a bit under the weight of all the jars and tins. We don't have a lot of space to move around, especially when the new stock arrives and boxes are piled up on the floor. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We get a lot of workers from the market coming in for a quick snack or some tobacco. The air around here often smells like diesel from the garage and the incense we burn in the shop every morning. We don’t bother with much decoration; the products themselves are the main thing. Dealing with customers means being ready to talk about the weather or the price of onions. It’s a very grounded way of living. We just make sure that when someone comes in looking for something specific, we can find it for them in one of our many corners. It’s about being reliable for the people who work and live in this busy part of town.
