Shri Ganesh Masala Bhandar

If you walk into Rampura Bazar and head towards Agrasen Bazar, you’ll find Shri Ganesh Masala Bhandar. You can usually smell the spices before you even see the shop. We have sacks of different seeds, powders, and whole spices sitting out for everyone to see. It’s a small space, and it gets quite crowded with all the bags stacked up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of our time weighing things out on the old scales and packing them into smaller bags for customers. The air is always a bit dusty with the smell of chilies or turmeric, which makes some people sneeze when they first walk in. We’ve been in this market for a long time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a traditional kind of place. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. Everything is just laid out so people can see what they’re getting. We keep our prices written on small pieces of cardboard. It’s a busy way to spend a day, especially when the holiday season comes around and everyone is cooking more at home. We just keep our heads down and serve the people who walk through the door. It’s simple work, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve been at this same spot since I can remember.
