Shreemati Sarees

Shreemati Sarees is over at Shop no. 4 in the New Cloth Market in Kota. If you have ever been to the market, you know it can be a bit of a maze with all the different shops selling similar things. We are one of the smaller units in the row. The market is always loud, especially in the afternoons when the sun is out and the shoppers are everywhere. We’ve been at this location for a while now. The shop itself is quite simple. We have some shelves for the stock and a place for people to sit if they want to look at something. There isn't any air conditioning, so we just use the ceiling fans to keep the air moving. It gets pretty hot in Kota, as everyone knows. We don't do anything too fancy with the layout of the shop. It’s just a place for us to keep our things and meet the people who come in. Most of our day is spent talking to folks from around the market or organizing the shelves after a busy morning. We aren't part of some big chain. It’s just a local shop where we do our own thing. We usually have some tea around four o’clock, and that is often the best part of the day. If you are in the New Cloth Market, just look for number four. It is a small place, but it is ours and we are here daily. It's how we make a living and we are happy working here in Kota.
